Vans announces the release of new Pearlized designs with the introduction of the Classic Slip-On Pearlized in Indigo, and Black/Camo, plus fresh colorways of the coveted Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Black/Navy and Bronze.
Expanding Vans’ embellishment narrative, the Classic Slip-On and Old Skool 36 Pearlized feature the recognized pearl and crystal expressions along a distressed upper, emulating a well-loved shoe that has been repaired and customized along the way as it has traveled to many destinations.

Enduring generations, Style 98—now known as the Classic Slip-On—rose to prominence in Southern California shortly after it was introduced in 1979. Originally designed as a skate shoe, it was soon embraced by youth culture as an everyday shoe because of its straightforward design.
Style 36, the second skate shoe ever created by Vans, debuted in 1977. It was the first Vans shoe to feature the iconic Sidestripe™ and was renamed the Old Skool™ in the early ’90s before celebrating its 30th anniversary and officially becoming a Vans Classic. Design details include a higher glossed sidewall and detailed stitching.

The release comes off the heels of recent, and now sold-out, releases of the OTW by Vans x SATOSHI NAKAMOTO Pearlized Old Skool and Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Marshmallow and Fuchsia. The Classic Slip-On and Old Skool 36 Pearlized reflect the Vans Premium ethos — emphasising modern comfort, elevated materials, and updated form, fit, and feeling of Vans classic models.
The Classic Slip-On retails for R3799.00 and Old Skool 36 Pearlized retails for R3999.00. The Classic Slip-On Pearlized in Indigo, Camo/Black and Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Black/Navy, and Pearlized Bronze will be available on Vans.co.za and select Vans retail stores 13th August.
