Our Goals

100% of top 4 CO2 impact materials will be regenerative, renewable, or recycled by 2030.
Vans top four CO2 impact materials:
- Cotton
- Polyester
- Rubber

100% recycled content for key product packaging by 2025 & zero plastic packaging by 2030.
All key product packaging to be 100% recycled content or eliminated by 2025.
- Paper: shoe boxes, paper wrap, hang taps, sandal hangers, inserts
- Plastic: Polybags (retail & samples), shoelace bags, sandal bags
All plastic product packaging will be recycled = nothing in a landfill by 2030.

Create and scale circular products by 2030.
This means:
- Intentionally designing select product for disassembly, Collecting used product and establishing recycling, resell, or donation pathways for all materials.
- Creating new select products from recycled materials

To earn the VR3 checkerboard globe logo, one or more of the
following materials must make up at least 30% of the product:
Renewable
Materials sourced from plants, animals, and microbes that can be replenished within a person's lifetime and are obtained from sources that have the intention of reducing potential impacts on the planet.
Regenerative
Materials produced using agricultural practices that are intended to help promote biodiversity, enhance water cycles, improve soil health and/or sequester carbon.
Recycled
Materials that have been reprocessed using inputs that were recovered or diverted from the waste stream.

VF Responsible Sourcing teams verify that all materials choices align with these applicable standards and policies.

The new VR3Cush™ midsole and footbed is made using at least 25% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plants per ASTM D6866-16 reference standard.


VR3 Waffle™ outsole made with a proprietary compound containing at least 25% natural rubber. Our natural rubber is obtained from sources that have the intention of reducing impacts on the planet.


Textile materials contain at least 40% or more of Renewable, Regenerative, and/or Recycled materials; *includes loft insulation, excludes trims.
