Through Custom Charm Design
Vans announces the forthcoming release of the Charms pack, leading with the LX Authentic 44 Charms in three colourways: black/white and red/navy. The Charms pack celebrates craft, rich textures, and unexpected pairings, subverting cultural fashion cues through Van's iconic silhouettes.
The LX Authentic 44 Charms features a removable charm keepsake alongside a splattered, distressed sidewall that mimics a travelled, memory-holding sneaker. The style also includes sequin-striped quarters and an extra set of attached laces in a variety of colours for utmost versatility.
The Style 44 deck shoe, now widely known as the Authentic, was designed in 1966 – the same year Van Doren Rubber Company was founded in Anaheim, California. Sixty years ago, the Authentic occupied a space of its own, setting a new standard with its distinct and durable waffle outsole, made from thick crepe rubber. The LX Authentic 44 Charms celebrates its legacy through self-expression and modern craftsmanship, carrying the silhouette further into today’s cultural conversation.
The LX Authentic 44 Charms is available to shop in select Vans retail stores and online at Vans.co.za on 7 May 2026.
